Sounds like a pretty broad topic doesn’t it.
We could try to tell you all about cats, but it would be a very long article. So what we’ll do instead is give you some fun facts and information about cats and we’ll have some fun while we’re at it.
Sort of like an everything you’ve ever wanted to know about cats but were afraid to ask.
So here’s our best all about cats overview!
Cat temperature: ranges from 101.5 to 102.5
Blood: Cats have 3 blood types A, B, and AB with AB being rare
Respiratory rate: usually 20 to 30 per minute
Heart Rate: usually 120 to 240 beats per minute depending on excitement levels.
Tail: Is part of the spine and is used for balance and communication
Whiskers: are used mainly as a sensing device
Nails: normally will have 5 toes on their front feet and 4 on the hind feet.
Ears: hearing range is better than a dog or human, also mood indicators
Nose: a great sense of smell is vital for a cat. From identifying danger, prey, info on the opposite sex.
Eyes: Cats have what is called binocular vision which means that both eyes see the same image at the same time. This gives the cat an incredible sense of depth perception.
Communication: Cats have several distinct ways of communicating vocally. Some of which are to growl, snarl, the silent meow, chatter, purr, chirp, yowl, hiss, spit, the mating call, and more.
They will also mark things as a way of communication, which would be things like rubbing against something, scratching, and marking with urine.
Age: We know that cats age differently than us, so it’s kind of nice to have an idea just where you cat is at on the scale in relation to humans. Here are a few examples to give you an idea.
Cat at 1 year old is equal to a human at 18 years old
Cat at 6 years old is equal to a human at 42 years old
Cat at 10 years old is equal to a human at 60 years old
Cat at 16 years old is equal to a human at 84 years old

A cat will hiss and or spit when it feels threatened. It is said that when they do this they are imitating a snake.
A litter of kittens can have more than one father.
A pregnant female cat can go into heat and end up pregnant again, actually carrying 2 litters. (Kind of makes you wish your were a cat)
Cats have an inner eyelid which is called the haw
The longest cat was 48” from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail.
A cat can begin to purr at around 1 week old.
Kittens are born with both eyes and ears closed.
